My Story
Darryl began working in the community at the age of 16 and has continued this work ever since, developing deep expertise in disability support, carers services, counselling, aged care, and community development. This early, grassroots experience shaped his understanding of the challenges faced by diverse learners and communities and continues to influence his inclusive approach to education and training.
Since 1998, he has worked extensively in education across NGOs, universities, and adult learning environments. He owned and operated a Registered Training Organisation from 2009 to 2019, delivering qualifications in community services, disability, and mental health, while also building strong compliance and governance expertise. Alongside this, he has over 15 years of experience managing and training within hospitality businesses, both in Australia and internationally, where he has developed programs in bar operations, mixology, customer service, and hospitality management.
Darryl is currently completing a Master of Education with Flinders University, specialising in disability, technology, and education. This builds on his long-standing commitment to inclusive learning by bringing together evidence-based practice with emerging technologies. His passion lies in integrating training, disability support, and AI innovation to create accessible, flexible, and practical learning opportunities for all learners.
At the heart of his work with SkillFusionAI is the belief that education should be empowering and adaptable, enabling people to discover their own learning style, build confidence, and achieve their goals in both industry and community life. Having his own neurodiverse learning differences, Darryl understands firsthand the challenges learners can face. This drives his commitment to using AI as a tool to unlock all the different ways people can learn, ensuring that every ability is recognised and every learner has the chance to succeed.
